US Presidential Elections

November 6, 2008

So Obama won what might be termed as a landslide victory. USA will get its first black president named Barack Hussein Obama.

I happen to be in the US right now and got a chance to experience the election day and the results here in the USA. What a boring election I must say. No litter of posters on the streets, no walls/signposts  plastered with posters screaming party names, no life-size cut-outs of leaders, no people in open jeeps with megaphones, no people on the streets dancing and singing, no firecrackers… The only way that you know it is election time is when you are watching the results on TV. It is all very ‘normal’ on the streets even when the biggest elections are taking place.

And what is this… Obama wins a straight majority. No horse-trading, no smaller party suddenly becoming more important than the large national parties, no last minute realigning friendships, no backstabbing… How boring to have an election with only two parties, no suspense really…

The Americans are missing all the fun…  🙂

Hmmm…man you really have the knack to convince your reader!!! Just a few minutes ago i was thinking of the decency exhibited (atleast superficially) in the US political arena.
And now i’m like-no action on the streets!!! Sheesh-so boring!!! Was there any cracker busting…i think not!!!
